Chakras & Kundalini Awakening

Chakras are ancient spiritual energy centers within the body, originating from Hinduism and Buddhism, which are believed to influence physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

When one thinks of becoming Enlightened, the Chakras usually go unnoticed. Stagnant energy usually causes blockages which inhibit energy from advancing throughout body. The essence of one’s energy, usually within the body is made up of each wheel that lies dormant until focused and placed attention to. In order to activate each Chakra, sitting or meditating allows the body to harness energy that slows the body down and allows each energetic wheel to become the focal point for energetic transformation and well-being.

These wheels which are located within the spine are called Chakras. They start at the bottom of our spine and as we work through blockages from our spine, to the top of our head, we reach the upper most Chakra, at the Crown. This process leads to awakening our Kundalini, as we clear each blockage from within our bodies.

The Kundalini is the coiled, dormant life force energy located at the base of the spine and is present in all beings. When awakened, this powerful energy travels upward through the body’s energy centers (chakras) to the crown of the head, leading to spiritual awakening, expanded consciousness, heightened self-awareness, and profound energetic shifts. This awakening can be achieved through active practices like yoga, meditation, and breath-work.

When a Chakra is misaligned to the body, usually by way of energy becoming stored and stagnant and not released or often too much of any one Chakra becoming over utilized, the energy becomes too dense or too tense and requires our attention and awareness to remove the energetic blockage. Through my time in meditation, I learned to harness each Chakra slowly and with purpose. The way I started to address the blockages within my own body was to first sit and focus my awareness on each Chakra individually.

The way to become aware of each Chakra is to focus one’s mind to the Chakra in question that is misaligned within your body. Each Chakra has a purpose and is specific in what it does. As you examine each Chakra, learn to focus your attention and awareness and using your breath, release energy by slowly dissipating negative energy blocks within each Chakra. A negative energy block is what causes disruption, disharmony, and excessive aspects of one’s self to exist – a fundamental problem wherein the body excessively craves self-destructive behaviors.

To cultivate a stronger positive Chakra, where one no longer needs to crave such self-destructive tendencies, one needs to first remove the negative energy blocks within the Chakras, and then sit with positive intention and allow for each Chakra to spin in the opposite direction to cultivate positive energy.
