The 4 Truths

I had come across a truth in myself when walking and meditating. The first 4 Truths that I came upon within myself were by surprise to me. I found that in each of them, there was a ultimate understanding of who I was. I didn’t know at the time that I would understand what specifically I was saying to myself, but as time would go on, I would find myself reciting the 4 Truths and believing in them. It turned out that from the 4 initial Truths, I would eventually come up with 4 more, for a total of 8 altogether. What made me surprised is that I was understanding myself through The Eightfold Path, but in my own way of finding the answers for myself.

Below are the first 4 Truths that I wish to share with you. These 4 are the ones that I had come up with within myself when I was searching and seeking while meditating. I would find that they would come to me at times through my journey. The way I discovered these 4 Truths was through the act of meditation. Specifically, I would sit for periods of time and allow myself to enjoy the solace, stillness and sense peace that I felt within. From this experience, it would allow for a fuller understanding to arise within me. It was as if, the meditation itself would carry over through my day and as it did, I would find myself speaking within or even to myself, and these 4 Truths are what I found.

It is my hope that by sharing these 4 Truths with you, that you may come across your own truths within yourself. In the words of Buddhism, these do not belong to “me” — as there is no “me” to belong to. So to speak these 4 truths to yourself, I encourage you to have them as your own.

Preface: All 4 (and more specifically, 8 Truths) begin with “All Life” — and the reason for this is because, Life is the ultimate gift given and received. From it, comes the many beautiful things that we take part in. It has many things that grant us the sense of self that we enjoy and come to grips with.

The First Truth: All Life is Beautiful
Beauty is the sense of being and quality that radiates in all beings. When we find that we notice and see something that is beautiful, we become aware and in touch with it. This sense of quality is because we see and are viewing the beauty from our sense of self that is there. To see beauty and to feel beautiful, we must therefore be in state of being that presents this sense of self to us.

The Second Truth: All Life is Spiritual
The sense Spirituality that one finds, is found only when one is directly related to there self as a spiritual being. This sense of reverence and holiness comes from a place within our heart, that yearns and desires to feel for itself who it is that is the spiritual being. The sense of longing and desire to be in touch with our own heart, is the desire for ourself to be at one with ourself solely.

The Third Truth: All Life is Conscious
The Conscious manifestation is the pervading force of the Universe. This force reckons all things and we are all things from it. The Conscious experience that we have each day and go through, is because we are Conscious beings. Aware, alive, attuned, and yet more than anything, truly present through and through — those of us, that have found a way to be Conscious of ourselves, find a way to be totally aware and in awareness of ourselves.

The Fourth Truth: All Life is Scared
The essence of life is to discover how scared Life really is. Life is a beautiful journey and within the Universe at large, it is a speck of very finite time. This finite-ness brings forth the sense of stillness, slowing us down and teaching us that Life is a great journey that we go through as Spiritual Beings. Because of this, Life begins to make sense as we realize the depths from which we are born from.
